Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 June 2026

This policy explains how Ronin SA (CK2006/144371/23) collects, uses and protects your personal information through the member portal. We process personal information in line with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

The responsible party / data controller is Ronin SA. Our Information Officer is Adv TJ Irvine-Smith, contactable at info@ronin.co.za.

2. What we collect

3. How and why we use it

To operate your membership and the member portal, to maintain an authoritative record of training and qualifications, to run the graduate directory and (with your consent) make you discoverable to potential employers, and to provide credential verification. Our lawful bases include performance of our agreement with you, your consent, and our legitimate interests as a training provider.

Member communications. As an active member, you will receive periodic email updates from Ronin SA — including newsletters, opportunities, and announcements (typically no more than once a month), sent through our email provider Brevo. You can unsubscribe from these updates at any time using the link in any such email; unsubscribing does not affect your membership.

4. The graduate directory & sharing with employers and graduates

As part of your graduate membership, your profile — including your contact details and photographs — is listed in the graduate directory, which is visible to potential employers and fellow graduates. You may request that your profile be disabled (removed from the directory) at any time by emailing info@ronin.co.za; this hides you from the directory while keeping your account and portal access. Ronin SA administrators retain access for support and verification.

5. Retention of your training record

Ronin SA retains a permanent, minimal record of your training and qualifications (your name, contact email, qualifications and dates) for credential-verification and integrity purposes — even if you close or erase your account. We rely on our legitimate interest as a training provider and the need to verify genuine graduates. All other personal data is deleted on erasure.

6. Who we share data with

Potential employers (per section 4), and service providers that operate the platform on our behalf — currently Supabase (hosting/database), Resend (email), Stripe (payments) and Brevo (newsletters) — under data-processing agreements. Some providers may process data outside South Africa; we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.

7. Your rights

To exercise these rights, email info@ronin.co.za.

8. Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; we'll post the new version here with a revised date. Questions: info@ronin.co.za.
